Limehouse, off Macclesfield Old Road.
Occupied at the time of the 1841 census. As late as 1857 a few people occupied as lime burners were still living in hovels excavated out of the waste lime tips in the Grin Low area.
In 1863 it was recorded that 'a very sad accident occurred on Friday last at Dove Holes, by the falling in of a room cut out of a heap of lime ashes, by which two women and two children lost their lives'.
